About us

D+C Development and Cooperation
is a monthly publication. The journal is funded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and commissioned by ENGAGEMENT GLOBAL. However, the journal does not serve as a governmental mouthpiece. Our mission is to provide a credible forum of debate, involving governments, civil society, the private sector and academia at an international level. D+C is the identical twin of E+Z Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit, the leading German language publication on development issues. D+C and E+Z share the same content.

50 years
The first edition of “Mitteilungen”of the Deutsche Stiftung für Entwicklungsländer (DSE – German Foundation for Developing Countries) appeared on 1 November 1960. Four years later, this newsletter was relaunched as the magazine E+Z. We published a special edition of E+Z (only in German) to celebrate this anniversary. It was published in a small number. Food security

For all people to get enough food, agriculture must thrive. Higher yields, however, will not suffice to overcome hunger. The purchasing power of those in need must rise too.
